The first EASTBIO Annual Symposium, led by first year EASTBIO students, was held at the University of Aberdeen on the 27th-28th of August 2013 on 'Making an Impact'.

Professor Sir Ian Diamond on 'Impact of policy on research'

Guest speakers included professor Verity Brown (University of St Andrews), professor Sir Ian Diamond (University of Aberdeen), Dr Jan Barfoot and Dr Hilary Snaith (University of Edinburgh) while the session on Impact case studies was delivered by professor Julian Blow, Dr Iain R. Grief and Dr Jame M. Reid. The talks were accompanied by interactive workshops led by Mags Watson, Dr Lucy Leiper and Dr Rhiannon Thompson and Sonia Watson on both days of the symposium.
